Jenna, CVT

Practice Manager

Jenna’s organizational knowledge, technical skills and ability to be a motivating leader make her a great asset to the Derry Animal Hospital team. Her responsibilities include managing finances, human resources and reception and establishing practice protocols. She is also a certified veterinary technician in New Hampshire and a member of the New Hampshire Veterinary Technician Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. Jenna started at the hospital back in 2002.

“Derry Animal Hospital focuses on client education and patient well-being,” she says. “We really try to practice the best medicine. The staff is awesome, as are our clients and patients.”

Jenna has three Rottweilers: Korben, Drake and Archer. In her spare time, she enjoys Crossfit, Olympic lifting, motorcycles, mountain biking and hiking.

 

April

Veterinary Technician

As a veterinary assistant with Derry Animal Hospital since 2011, April’s responsibilities include holding patients during examinations, assisting our doctors and drawing blood. She considers being able to help owners keep their pets happy and healthy the most rewarding part of her job. April attended the University of New Haven and the University of New Hampshire in Manchester, where she studied business.

“It’s great to work with people that all share a common goal to keep pets health and happy and work as a team to achieve that goal,” she says. “I couldn’t ask for better doctors to work with.”

April has a Doberman named Kimber. She spends her time outside work caring for her dogs, gardening, antiquing, sewing and crafting.

 

Madi

Veterinary Technician

Full-time Veterinary Technician Madi joined Derry Animal Hospital in March of 2020. Her job responsibilities include holding patients during exams, assisting doctors, and drawing blood. Madi loves caring for patients and making sure they are happy and healthy. She is known for her happy and positive personality! Currently, Madi is enrolled in the Great Bay Veterinary Technician program and she is fear-free certified. Before joining our team as a Veterinary Technician, she worked as a Kennel Attendant.

Madi has five cats named Mitzy, Snickers, Berry, Melon, and Apple. She loves working at the animal hospital because of her amazing co-workers and clients. She says it is a great environment to walk into everyday! In her free time, Madi enjoys spending time with her pets, going on hikes, and exploring nature.

Kerri

Administrative Assistant Customer Service Representative

As Derry Animal Hospital’s administrative assistant, Kerri’s duties include handling maintenance issues, managing medical records, greeting clients and ordering supplies and food. She joined the hospital team in September 2007.

Kerri cares for two cats at home, Stoli and Tequila. When she isn’t at work, she enjoys boating, fishing, hanging out by the lake, camping and spending time with friends and family.

Michelle

Receptionist

Beginning here at Derry Animal Hospital in May of 2017 as one of our outstanding Receptionists, Michelle has since proven herself to be a vital member of our team. She offers over 20 years of related experience in the animal field. Michelle is responsible for answering phones, booking appointments, checking and responding to clients, checking patients and clients in and out of our facility and much more. Each day, Michelle offers an outgoing and friendly approach to interacting with our clients and their pet companions.

Prior to working for us at Derry Animal Hospital, Michelle worked as an Animal Control Officer in Maiden Mountain, and as a Technician and Pharmacy Assistant. Michelle posses a certificate in grooming and kennel management. She has experience as a Groomer and Manager at Groom Town Pet Boutique and Spa, and as a Groomer, Receptionist, and Technician Assistant at VCA Northboro. When asked about working for Derry, Michelle says, “I like the atmosphere, clients and my coworkers.”

At home, Michelle enjoys spending her free time reading and practicing gardening. She owns one canine, a spayed female named Jewel, and a neutered feline named Bob.

Jessa

Receptionist

Receptionist Jessa is responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking emails, and responding to clients, checking patients in and out of appointments, and so much more. She is known for her outgoing personality and her tech savvy skills. Jessa joined our team full-time in December of 2018, with experience in the veterinary care field since 2013. Before joining Derry Animal Hospital, Jessa worked in general practice for 4 years and in emergency care for 2 years in Massachusetts, as well as one year in emergency care in New Hampshire.

Currently, Jessa is Fundraising Lead for a non-profit animal charity in Massachusetts. As Fundraising Lead, Jessa collects food, blankets, and towels as donations for local animal shelters. She also has several pets of her own, including her pit bulls Bella (8), Sammy Nickels (3), Daisy (3), and a domestic shorthair cat named Sashy (14), as well as a sun conure named Sweet Pea (8). In her free time, Jessa loves to browse antique shops, cook, bake, volunteer for animal shelters, and swim with her pitties.

Carol

Receptionist

With 29 years of experience in the veterinary care field, Carol is essential in helping us provide exceptional care to our patients! Carol joined our team on June 8, 2020 and she is responsible for checking in clients, making appointments, canceling appointments, and closing at the end of the evening. She has excellent telephone skills and is a team player. Before joining our team, Carol worked at Arlington Animal Clinic and Fresh Pond Animal Hospital.

When asked why she loves working at Derry Animal Hospital, Carol said “I enjoy working with the public and I like the staff! I liked this staff before I even worked here. I think the doctors are great and technicians are the best!”

At home, Carol has several furry friends of her very own! Rosie is a 10-year-old dog, Mufasa is a 3-year-old cat, Spooky is a 20-year-old cat, Toni is a 6-year-old cat, and Gigi is a 6-year-old cat. In her free time, Carol loves to garden, she is an avid knitter, she enjoys reading, and taking her lab Rosie for long walks. Most of all, she loves spending time with her daughter and her family. Carol has a 2-year-old granddaughter who is the love of her life.
